CARSTEN ARNOLD
Wintersection
Wintersection is a visual pause between seasons, a place where autumn lingers and winter begins. The mountains rise muted and dusted in fresh snow, while golden leaves cling to the last light of fall, caught between change and stillness. Below, mirrored silhouettes of conifers dissolve into white, as if time and gravity have both let go.
I photographed these scenes while on a 67 day, 14,000km trip through all of British Columbia, the Yukon, and Northwest Territory all the way to shores of the Canadian Arctic Ocean.
