Where Silence Grows

Where Silence Grows explores the transformation of a single form across multiple states of being. The tree appears layered, as though captured in different moments and moods, or parallel versions of itself, rooted yet shifting. The background represents a portal of time which the tree has travelled through in its life.

I photographed this scene while hiking in Newfoundland, Canada. I passed through a land of dying trees in a marsh, and only silent skeletons remained, leaving a haunting reminder of their past.
