Lynx Woods

Lynx Woods blends forest and feline in a seamless visual metaphor for nature’s hidden sentience. At first glance, it’s a tranquil boreal landscape photographed in autumn tones, but look closer and the gaze of a lynx slowly reveals itself, camouflaged within the trees. The image invites the viewer to consider the forest not just as scenery, but as a living entity, quietly observing, ancient, aware.

This boreal forest was photographed in the Northwest Territory and inspired by rare sightings of this elusive animal. The lynx hidden in the forest was photographed in the Yukon during a very close and incredible encounter. Both experiences were one of the highlights of my 67 day, 14,000 km journey all the way to the Arctic Ocean.
